Mission and History

Our mission is to ensure that every Ukrainian woman and girl can plan her life freely, and be self-reliant and fulfilled.

Key areas of activity

Combating gender-based violence

We implement educational programmes for children and adolescents. We organize awareness campaigns and training sessions for law enforcement agencies, social services, educators and healthcare professionals.

Support for survivors of GBV

We provide long-term assistance to children and adults affected by gender-based violence. We create safe spaces and support a network of crisis centres. The organization has a hotline for psychological support.

Professional retraining of women

We believe in Girls Power and support women's aspirations for independence and self-fulfilment. We conduct training sessions, seminars and mentoring programmes to promote personal and professional growth. We help with retraining and employment.

Support during the war

We provide comprehensive support to IDPs, namely, we meet their material needs, take care of their psychological well-being, and help them adapt to new communities. We take care of the safe development and recovery of children.

Studies

We conduct nationally representative studies on mental health, gender equality and women's rights. This allows us to develop effective programmes that meet the current needs of society.

Mental health

We strive to make psychological support accessible to all girls and women. We have spaces for individual and group counselling, mobile services for those who cannot visit specialists, and online psychological support platforms.

Sex education

We are leaders in sex education in Ukraine. We implement sex education programmes in educational institutions. We conduct lectures and training sessions for adolescents and adults, raising their awareness of their health and sexual safety.

Advocacy

We systematically work on drawing the attention of the international community to the needs of Ukraine, particularly, to the importance of supporting women's organizations and humanitarian initiatives.

Thanks to the funds we raise, we can ensure the sustainable development of our programmes and expand the impact of our NGO throughout Ukraine and beyond.

The educational materials of the NGO Girls received approval from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine

Our educational programmes fully comply with the state standards and offer the highest quality educational materials for further usage.

Launched a hotline for psychological support

We provide free long-term psychological support to children and adults affected by violence or being in difficult life circumstances. The service is available every day from 8.00 a.m. to 8 p.m. and offers crisis assistance via chatbot or by calling 0800 600 044.

Created 10 spaces for women and children in different regions

We have created a network of safe spaces where women and children can get the help they need, be it psychological support, legal advice or meeting basic needs.
